Often Imitated. Never Duplicated
In case you didn’t know, there is this little pink egg-shaped sponge that has taken the beauty world by storm. It’s called the Beauty Blender and it is the secret to a flawless foundation application. Don’t be fooled by impostors. There is no substitute.
We finally tried this little pink sponge and can agree with the rest of the lovers; it’s magic. But what exactly is it and what does it do? It’s a non-disposable, latex-free makeup applicator sponge. It’s ergonomic design makes applying liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer effortless.
Basically you saturate the sponge with water and squeeze out the excess. Then gently towel dry it (I just take a dry hand towel and roll the sponge around). Dip the rounded bottom of the sponge into your foundation and ‘bounce’ it on your face. Bounce? Yes, bounce. It’s like stippling with a sponge. Remember art class? Me neither. But this method really ensures your makeup is totally blended, streak-free and flawless. You can use the pointy end to get around your eyes and nose. Seriously, the difference is unbelievable.
I have tried some that look like the Beauty Blender but they just don’t work like the real deal. So how much is this little sponge? It’s not cheap. Around $20 for one. Sephora sells it in a 2-pack for $25. You may be saying ‘Twenty bucks for a sponge?!?‘. Remember that it’s non-disposable. I have paid twice that for a foundation brush that I have come to dislike very much. Had I just pulled the trigger on the Beauty Blender before, I would have saved money on all the other brushes I have tried and hated.
Since its reusable, you need to clean it after each use. There is a special Beauty Blender cleanser but I have found that baby shampoo works brilliantly.
